Waste Control

“Another early project suggested by an associate was to reuse brass lug nuts that came with wheels. Instead of throwing them away or sending them to a recycling plant, SIA returns the lug nuts to the vendor, who reuses them several times over.
“This saves about 33,000 pounds a year from going into a landfill,” Coogan said. Not only that, it saves the company money because the vendor passed along the savings from having to purchase fewer parts.”
